Urpflanze
A series to explore our use of plants, in both practical and ritualistic, both strange and day -to day ways.
Urplanze: John Francois Turpin's mythological primordial plant, an 'ideal design' first made in 1837, said to hold the properties and structures of every plant past and future.
This series uses the Frankenstein like structure of the Urpflanze to explore the human uses of plants - practical, ritualistic, useful, useless, strange or mundane - as well as our obsessions with 'miracle cures'.
