An ongoing project exploring our understanding of the ocean.
These first prints, animations and sketches were made through working with scientists at Schmidt Ocean Institute who were studying ice age coral colonies along the coast of Hawaii to see how their growth can be used to predict patterns in sea level rise.
While responding to the specific research, these works also draw upon wider imagery and ideas about the development of mapmaking, the way we layer data and the fact that we know such a small amount about this huge part of the planet.
